SNOOKER: Basildon’s Stuart Bingham was knocked out of the Welsh Open yesterday by Joe Perry.
Their dramatic fourth-round encounter went down to the last few balls.
Perry won a scrappy opening frame and doubled his lead with a fine run of 73.
Last year’s Welsh Open finalist Bingham hit back to level at 2-2 but Perry, who has won an Asian Tour event this season, regained the lead with a 51 break.
Bingham then took the next in three visits to set up a decider, before being pipped at the last.
