EAST Thurrock United lost a cracking match 4-3 at Peacehaven & Telscombe.
Rocks came from 3-0 down to draw level only for Peacehaven to restore their advantage and take the points.
Rocks handed a start to returning midfielder Max Cornhill and actually started the match on top, with Tom Stephen and Sam Higgins coming close.
But a stunning free-kick from Jamie Brotherton, followed by quick-fire goals from Maxim Agnoly and Wilfred Grimaud put Peacehaven three goals ahead against the run of play.
Higgins grabbed a goal back before the break with a poweful free-kick that spun out of Antony Di Bernardo’s arms.
The striker netted again after the break to give the visitors a chance before they drew level when the prolific striker netted his hat-trick, and 39th goal of the campaign, from the penalty spot.
Having got themselves level it appeared only one side would go onto win.
But it was Peacehaven that got the next goal, with Tom Burton heading well past David Hughes.
John Coventry’s side came close to a leveler but it wasn’t to be.
East Thurrock United: Hughes, Sammons, Wood, Stephen, Parmenter, Gilbey, Cornhill, Witherspoon, Higgins, Lewis, Brown
