THURROCK moved up to 16th in the Isthmian Premier League standings after securing a 2-0 win over Leatherhead.
The Tanners came into the game having run League Two side Wycombe Wanderers close in the FA Cup second round.
But Mark Stimson's side were able to claim a valuable three points following their defeat at Hendon.
Fleet went ahead on moments before half-time thanks to Dennis Oli finding the back of the net.
And Curtis Ujah doubled the visitors' advantage just before the hour mark to ensure Thurrock would return to Ship Lane having picked up their seventh league win of the campaign.
Thurrock: Jessup, Morgan, Sutton, Clark, Ujah, Christou, Oli (Ogunrinde 75'), Spence, Stimson, Winn, Pindy
