GRAYS Athletic extended their unbeaten Isthmian North run to six matches thanks to a stoppage time leveller at Bury Town, while Thurrock lost 4-1 at Tooting & Mitcham United.
Jamie Stuart's side were able to secure a 1-1 draw at Ram Meadow and now find themselves just two points off the play-off places.
Cemal Ramadan gave the home side a 62nd minute lead from the penalty spot after debutant Joe Simmonds brought down Bradley Barber.
But Grays pushed for an equaliser and it finally came in the 95th minute.
Kieran Bishop was found by substitute Joao Carlos and the striker got on the scoresheet after his first attempt was blocked.
As a result, Grays travel to Maldon & Tiptree on Tuesday knowing that a win against the fellow play-off chasers could see them break into the top six.
Meanwhile, it was a day to forget for Thurrock as they lost 4-1 to Isthmian Premier League strugglers Tooting & Mitcham United.
The home side took the lead on 53 minutes through Mike Dixon.
And Dixon was on target again four minutes later to double his and Tooting's tally.
Dan Clements was then able to complete a brace as he netted on 65 minutes and with 10 minutes remaining.
Claudio Ribeirio-Goncalves scored a consolation goal for Fleet in the dying moments.
Mark Stimson's side travel to Folkestone Invicta on Tuesday.
