THURROCK got back to winning ways with a win over Harlow Town, while Grays Athletic suffered a surprise defeat to Romford.
Mark Stimson's Fleet had suffered Isthmian Premier League defeats to Billericay Town and Dorking Wanderers since beating Worthing just before Christmas.
But Thurrock bounced back by claiming a 1-0 win over Harlow Town at Ship Lane.
Fleet went into the clash just six points above bottom placed Burgess Hill Town.
But they have now climbed up to 15th in the Isthmian Premier League standings as Curtis Ujah grabbed the only goal of the game four minutes before the break.
Meanwhile, Grays lost 2-1 to Romford at Parkside.
Jay Knight found the back of the net for the visitors after 21 minutes, and the debutant doubled his and Romford's tally two minutes after the interval.
Glenn Poole hit back after 51 minutes, but Jamie Stuart's side could not find an equaliser.
The result allowed Romford to climb off the foot of the Isthmian North standings, while Grays remain four points off the play-off places.
