AVELEY’S seven match unbeaten streak came to an end at the hands of Ware.
Former Miller Jordan Watson grabbed what proved to be the only goal of the game at Parkside.
But Aveley got off to a positive start and thought they had taken the lead inside the opening 10 minutes.
Tony Martin met Russell Malton’s cross and found the back of the net, but Martin was adjudged to have been offside and the goal was disallowed.
Freddie Gard and Garrett Kelly both sent efforts inches wide of the target in the space of two minutes, while Alex Teniola was denied by Harry Voss from just a few yards out.
That miss was to prove costly as Watson rounded off an impressive Ware counter-attack by slotting the ball past Aveley goalkeeper Rhys Madden on the stroke of half-time.
The Millers created a number of half-chances as the second half got underway, but Marcus Milner came close to doubling Ware’s advantage as his deflected strike went just wide.
Ace Laurent also missed a golden opportunity for the visitors, but Ware were able to hold on and claimed all three points to improve their survival chances.
James Webster’s side, meanwhile, are 19th in the Isthmian North standings.
Aveley: Madden, Sampayo, Malton, Cosson, Keizer-Burrows, Stephenson, Kelly (Southgate 90’), Bradford (Topley 58’), Teniola, Gard, Martin (Bourne 75’)
