GRAYS Athletic and Tilbury were beaten in their latest pre-season friendlies just seven days before the new Isthmian North season gets underway.
But Aveley’s preparations were hampered as the Millers’ warm-up clash did not go ahead.
Grays were condemned to a 1-0 defeat by Whitstable Town.
The hosts took a fourth minute lead and refused to relinquish their advantage.
Tilbury fell to a 2-1 loss against Hythe Town.
Siju Odelusi cancelled out the visitors’ early opener after 17 minutes.
But Hythe claimed victory thanks to an 85th minute strike at Chadfields.
Meanwhile, Aveley’s friendly with Faversham Town – which was due to take place at Parkside – did not go ahead due to no officials being available.
