TILBURY were made to settle for a point after late goals allowed Brentwood Town to come from behind and claim a 2-2 draw.
Strikes from Oli Spooner and Mitchell Gilbey had put the Dockers on course for victory, but two goals in the final three minutes resulted in the hosts snatching a share of the spoils.
Tilbury dominated for long periods in the first half, but Brentwood were indebted to keeper Rob Budd as he kept his side in the game.
The first effort of the Isthmian North clash fell to Kojo Apenteng, who struck the post after two minutes, before the Dockers’ Lewis Smith saw his bullet effort saved by Budd.
Captain Kris Newby then saw Budd deny him twice in quick succession as Tilbury’s pressure continued.
George Sykes became the latest Tilbury attacker to be thwarted by Budd, while the custodian also tipped a Gilbey effort around the post.
Brentwood's Ernest Okoh then struck the post but the visitors broke the deadlock five minutes before the break.
Smith switched the play to Sykes, who got to the byline before crossing for Spooner to slot home.
Tilbury should have doubled their advantage seconds later as Gilbey picked out Sykes, who did the hard work before seeing his effort on goal strike the post with an unguarded net.
The Dockers continued to pepper the Brentwood goal after the break, with Budd in outstanding form to stop Smith from getting his name on the scoresheet.
Marc Harrison’s in-form Tilbury gave themselves a two-goal cushion soon after the hour mark as Spooner burst into the penalty area before finding Gilbey to smash home.
The home side came into the game and looked more dangerous after falling further behind.
With three minutes to go, substitute Harry Doyle picked the ball up just inside the Tilbury half and unleashed a great effort from 30 yards that beat Rhys Madden and flew into the net.
Brentwood went in search of a leveller and were rewarded in injury time when defender Quba Gordon came up from the back and, with the ball not cleared, stabbed home to the delight of the home side.
Despite being pegged back, Tilbury still came close to bagging all three points as Smith fashioned a last-gasp opportunity.
But some strong defending allowed Brentwood to hold on to a point.
