101 years of football at the New Recreation Ground, home of Grays Athletic on Bridge Road is set to come to a close at the end of the season as the club have announced it will be selling the ground.
Press Spokesman Kevin Lamb said: "We are looking to relocate to a new purpose built stadium. In order to facilitate this the New Recreation Ground will be sold and part of the proceeds will be generously donated by the Billings family towards the cost of the new stadium.
"We are hopeful that area and planning permission will be given shortly and further details regarding this will be released once we have full confirmation."
The club will have to ground share for a year. The two choices are Thurrock FC in Ship Lane, Aveley or Dagenham and Redbridge in Victoria Road, Dagenham.
The fans are being given the final say on where the club play next year.
Kevin Lamb said: "We would like the fans to vote on which location you would prefer. This can be done via the on-line poll on the Fans Forum, by e-mail (secretary@graysathletic.co.uk) or in writing at the club address.
"We understand that this news will be upsetting for some fans but we have outgrown out current ground and need to relocate."
The last match at the New Rec is planned for Tuesday, April 22 against Salisbury City.
