Aveley 2, Wealdstone 2 MILLERS’ hot-shot striker Martin Tuohy was back in the news — but this time for the right reasons.
For the ex- Great Wakening and East Thurrock striker, sent off as his side crashed to defeat on Bank Holiday Monday, grabbed a brace as Aveley drew to sit in a highly-respectable sixth place in their first season at this level.
The hosts twice came from behind, Tuohy first equalising on the stroke of half-time after Allan Massey headed Stones ahead on 29 minutes from Marvin McCoy’s free-kick.
A superb run and finish from full-back McCoy saw the visitors back in front, but Aveley, and Tuohy in particular, were not to be denied and he scrambled home the late equaliser for a point.
