Thurrock 3, Stamford 1 FOOTBALL: Thurrock had their first win of the season after a nine minutes Simon Mowbray went round Joe Woolley in the Thurrock goal and shot against the bar when clear.
After 26 minutes the visitors took a deserved lead when Mowbray went through the middle and slotted past Woolley.
Then the excellent Matt Bodkin burst through and found Cliff Akurang who rounded Chris Wright and flicked into the back if the net to equalise.
The second half was a different matter and Thurrock dominated.
Substitute Lee Roache ran clear but his shot was saved by Wright.
Max Lette-Jallow then hit the post and Roache headed home Joe Collins cross with three minutes to go to give Thurrock the lead and in injury time Roache scored a tap in to secure the win from Akurang’s cross.
