CHAMPIONSHIP: Ipswich boss Roy Keane looks set to lose his job after less than two years in charge at Portman Road.

Ipswich have called a press conference for 11am where it is expected the Town boss’s departure will be announced.

If the rumours are true, Keane will have paid the price for an awful run of seven losses from nine games, culminating in a 1-0 defeat by Nottingham Forest on Monday night.

The result left Ipswich floundering at 19th overall in the Championship table.

If Keane does lose his job, ex-Bradford, Sheffield Wednesday, Wigan and Derby manager Paul Jewell is rumoured to be in the frame for the job.

Jewell has been out of work since resigning as manager of the Rams, after a 1-0 defeat by Ipswich, at the end of 2008.
