BASKETBALL: Essex Pirates’ search for their first British Basketball League win of the season continues following two more defeats this weekend.
Friday saw the Pirates lose 82-42 at One Health Sharks before going down 84-63 away to Guildford Heat yesterday afternoon.
Taner Adu led the scoring with 13 in the steel city as Pirates found themselves trailing in all four quarters.
Veteran debutant Ronnie Baker led the scoring at Guildford with 17 points, with Adu adding 16 and Zac Gachette nine.
Pirates ended the first quarter with a 20-19 lead but surrended it in the second stanza and were trailing for the remainder of the match.
