SEA ANGLING: THERE was no news for the boat skippers this week with many thought to be getting annual maintenance work done on their boats.
Southend Pier: Flounder to mackerel strip.
Southend beaches: Flounder to mackerel strip on the evening tides.
East Coast: Clacton Pier showing mainly dabs, and small whiting.
Walton Pier: Richard Holgate at Metcalf’s reports that small codling have arrived in numbers, along with dabs.
Canvey Holehaven Creek: Plenty of flounder on the flood.
Grays Wharf: Still showing small flounder.
Grays Yacht Club: Showing better flounder past the out-fall.
Tilbury East Beach: Still showing flounder on the flood.
Tilbury Worlds End: Just a few flounder on the mud bank and chance of an eel by the jetty.
Thurrock Lakeside: The odd flounder in deep water and a surprise sole reported.
Coldharbour Lane, Rainham: A few flounder to worm baits.
Gravesend: Graham East at Dolphin Angling reports plenty of flounder but very few round fish.
Morrison’s Jetty, Erith: Plenty of flounder to worm and prawn baits.
Thamesmead: Still showing fair numbers of good flounder and bass to 3lb.
