Needham Market 3, East Thurrock 0 RYMAN ONE NORTH: Kris Newby’s 54th-minute dismissal capped a disappointing day for the leaders East Thurrock at their closest challengers for the title.
Rocks dominated the first half but went behind in injury time when Bradley Barber scored following a corner.
And their task got even harder nine minutes after the restart when top-scorer Kris Newby was sent off for a tackle on Craig Parker.
Barber added a second with a header on 63 minutes and Sam Newson sealed a 3-0 win with nine minutes to go.
It left East Thurrock three points ahead of Needham at the top of the table, but the Marketmen have three games in hand.
East Thurrock: Wray, Sammons, Keith, Wood, Sheehan, Muguo, Newby, Cornhill, Wixon, Gilbey, Ruel.
