Stanford U14s 12, Rochford U14s 24 STANFORD U14s again showed character against Rochford who are unbeaten in the Essex 1st Division.
The Stanford teens defended well in the first few minutes, before the pressure told.
They scored again a few minutes later, but the home side continued to work hard and were rewarded with a try by Louis Webb.
The second half was almost a repeat of the first half, with two tries scored by Rochford before a try was scored by centre Jamie Impey, converted by fly half Dave Hickey.
Although the match was lost, it was a good team performance by the Stanford boys against strong opposition and there were several notable performances.
Dave Hickey again controlled the game well. Backs Jamie Impey, Jake Clark, Jake Watts and Harry McGregor playing well. New lads Mark Jackson and Jack Tray performed well. And lock Jack Enever and hooker Rob Mayger contributed.
* Stanford Under 11s beat Eton Manor 19-7 and in the second match they triumphed again, by 17-5. In the Under 9s Stanford and Eton Manor Under 9s shared the spoils. In the first match stanford went down 10-0, but they got their revenge in the second match, winning 15-10.
