RUGBY: The T-Chicks travelled the long journey over to Guildford on Sunday.
They had already told us that they were struggling for numbers where as the T-Chicks numbers are still thriving and increasing.
When we arrived they only had 7 players so we leant them 4 players.
Hannah Muckle, Sophie French, Natalie Mitchell and Holly Adenije all played for Guildford for the first half.
This meant that all the girls played rather than act as a sub.
The game started well and Guildford had certainly improved from the last time we played them.
They scored 2 quick tried by running round the outside.
T-Chicks woke up and Jess Mead run half the length of the pitch to score under the posts.
The game carried on with further tries from Guildford through missed tackles from the T-Chicks their defence stayed strong when we had the ball.
The second half started and we leant Guildford a different 4 players in Megan Wilson, Anne Mitchell, Emmi McGill and and Holly Venus.
None of the girls really moaned about it and just got on with the game.
The game continued in the spirits of the game from both of these newly formed teams.
Prop Ellie Read picked up the ball from a ruck on the half way line and run half the length of the pitch bumping off girls along the way and even carrying 2 Guildford girls across the line holding onto her.
Paris Missons played scrum half for the first proper game the picked up the ball from a scrum, and popped the ball back inside to Jess Mead who run in under the posts to kick the conversion as well.
Captain Emily Gerret Morgan had a quiet day until a storming gave her team the lead in the game.
The T-Chicks played nowhere near their best and are still learning their trade against other more experienced teams.
T-Chicks Training is every Wednesday from 6.30 at Thurrock RFC.
