CRICKET: ORSETT Cricket Club held their annual mens dinner at Langdon Hills Golf Club. The club’s dinner marked the start of the fundraising season, with the club this year boosting local boy, Reece Walker. Reece has Spastic Diplegic Cerebral Palsy and needs to raise money for pioneering treatment in the United States. Fundraising for Reece will come to a head on Friday August 3.
An Orsett Cricket Club team will square up to a Lashings World X1 at Orsett Recreation Ground. The Lashings team will be made up of ex-international cricketers which has previously included Gordon Greenidge, Courtney Walsh, Graeme Hick and Curtly Ambrose. Corporate hospitality tickets are available. For more information contact Lynn Kooyman on 01375 856416. Orsett Cricket Club were also delighted to receive a cheque for £2,885. The cheque came from the Essex and Southend Sports Trust.
The cash injection will be used towards buying site screens for the club.
